At the beginning of February, I attended Creative World in Frankfurt. It’s the leading event for creative businesses. During this event, you can establish contacts with wholesalers and brands from all over the world.
As an artist, it might not be the best place to find your fortune. You can’t buy anything there, and you can’t really get anything if you only have a small order. And what exactly is a small order? That varies greatly everywhere. I had more or less expected that not everyone would want to talk to me, because Funky Studio isn’t huge yet. But most people were willing to talk, and only a few showed no interest.
One wholesaler clearly had issues with webshops and absolutely didn’t want me as a customer, even though the brand is sold online by one of his customers. So that was just an excuse. But fortunately, I met so many nice people and saw so many great things to add to the webshop! But being a small business, we can’t do everything at once.
I immediately created more cabinet space, and the first orders will arrive soon. Of course, I’ll keep you informed about that right away.
For the rest, the event provides a tremendous amount of inspiration. They even have a team that tries to identify and compile trends throughout the year. From colors and shapes to textures and materials. It’s really exciting to experience and be inspired by.
